QuickBooks Online Integration
How Kairon Health connects to QuickBooks Online, what data the integration touches, and how to disconnect it.
This page is an informational reference for the “kaironlibrary sync” QuickBooks Online integration. There is nothing to sign in to here, and no action is required of you to read it. If you arrived here after disconnecting the integration in QuickBooks Online, the disconnection is already complete — see Disconnecting the integration below.
What this integration is
Kairon Health Inc. operates an internal tool, referred to as “kaironlibrary sync,” that connects to QuickBooks Online in order to read Kairon’s own corporate accounting records for internal financial reporting. It reads general ledger data, accounts payable and accounts receivable, and invoices, and it creates pass-through invoices in Kairon’s own QuickBooks company.
The purpose is straightforward: to keep Kairon’s internal financial reporting in sync with the company’s books of record without manual re-keying.
It is internal-only
The integration is used solely by Kairon Health for Kairon Health’s own accounting. In particular:
- It connects to exactly one QuickBooks Online company — Kairon Health Inc.’s own company file.
- It is not offered, sold, licensed or made available to customers, partners or any other third party, and it is not a feature of the Kairon Health platform.
- It is not a hosted, multi-tenant web application. It runs as an internal command-line tool operated by authorized Kairon personnel. There is no end-user sign-up, no end-user login, and no customer-facing interface.
- Data read from QuickBooks Online is used only for Kairon’s internal financial reporting and is not resold, shared for advertising, or otherwise disclosed to third parties for their independent use.
No patient data, no PHI
The integration does not process, store or transmit protected health information (PHI) or any other patient data. It never sends patient data to QuickBooks Online, and it never retrieves patient data from it. The data in scope is corporate accounting data only — the kind of information any company keeps in its general ledger.
The systems that handle PHI for Kairon’s clinical and operational products are separate from this integration and are governed by the applicable business associate agreements.
Data accessed
- General ledger accounts and journal entries
- Accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Invoices, including pass-through invoices created by the integration
- Supporting reference records needed to interpret the above, such as vendors, customers (which for Kairon are business entities) and chart-of-accounts metadata
The integration is read-only, with one exception: it creates pass-through invoices in Kairon’s own QuickBooks company. It authenticates using OAuth 2.0 credentials issued by Intuit and scoped to that single company.
Connecting and reconnecting
Connecting or reconnecting the integration is performed by authorized Kairon Health personnel from the internal tool, which initiates the standard Intuit OAuth 2.0 authorization flow and requires signing in to Kairon’s QuickBooks Online account with sufficient permissions. Because the tool is internal and not publicly hosted, there is no connect button on this page and no public authorization endpoint. If the connection needs to be re-established, contact Kairon at help@kaironhealth.com.
Disconnecting the integration
The connection can be revoked at any time from within QuickBooks Online, by an administrator of the QuickBooks company:
- Sign in to QuickBooks Online.
- Open Settings (the gear icon) and choose Manage Apps.
- Locate kaironlibrary sync in the list of connected apps.
- Choose Disconnect and confirm.
Disconnecting immediately revokes the integration’s OAuth tokens. After that, the integration can no longer read from or write to the QuickBooks company until it is explicitly reconnected. Accounting records in QuickBooks Online are not deleted or altered by disconnecting.
